On Wednesday 2 May, 368 volunteer pupils and teachers from the Comunità di Sant'Egidio and Scuolemigranti school network were invivted to visit the Cesare Tacchi. A retrospective exhibition, accompanied by 21 students from the Università La Sapienza's Art History Department on a jointly designed interactive and conversational tour. The aim was to test integration dynamics between migrants and Roman citizens, choosing the cultural sphere as the appropriate terrain for encounter.

This scheme is the first step in a broader programme of initiatives curated and devised by the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo and the Chair of Contemporary Art History at Rome's Università La Sapienza in conjunction with the Scuolemigranti network, with the participation of the Biblioteche di Roma, Comunità di Sant'Egidio and Società Dante Alighieri.
 

The second edition of New Roman Citizens involved the Piero Tosi. Exercises in beauty exhibition and once again welcomed as its participants 350 students and teachers from the city's Italian schools for foreigners, while on this occasion also involving the Cpia2, Cpia3 and Cpia4 provincial adult education centres. Once again accompanied by the Università La Sapienza's female Art History majors, the interactive tour explored the world of the cinema and the teaching work of one of Italy's most important costumiers.
