Francesca Pagnanelli | Treating and Recycling Technological Waste

23 November 2021, from 11:00pm to 1:00pm
cycle of lectures organised in conjunction with Sapienza Università di Roma - Facoltà di Scienze Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali

The circular economy aims to reduce our consumption of primary resources by using waste and refuse which, after appropriate treatment, can become secondary raw materials. In the panorama of refuse, more and more room is being taken up by technological waste (from electrical and electronic devices and batteries) which, while its makeup is attractive in terms of the value it contains (precious and critical metals), differs considerably from primary raw materials (minerals) and therefore requires new strategies for its optimisation.

Francesca Pagnanelli
, Lecturer in the theory of the development of chemical processes, Department of Chemistry, Rome Sapienza University - Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, studies how to develop innovative waste and refuse optimisation processes on an industrial scale.
