Otto won the Premio UBU award before its debut in 2002. The year it won the award, Kinkaleri were touring with their working studies, experimenting with new stage materials as though in they were in the cutting room. Fifteen years after its debut on 16 January 2003, Kinkaleri has brought this piece back to the stage, driven by a need to understand what there is that is still true in a performance that turns "collapse" into the emblem of a new era. A person comes on stage and falls: a fall which, thirty years on, seeks to relate to a new generation, to figure out whether the collapse identified in the 2000s is still ongoing or whether we are on an iceberg moving in other directions.

Kinkaleri is an artistic collective which first saw the light of day in 1995 and devotes its energies to the arts of the stage. The group's members are Massimo Conti, Marco Mazzoni and Gina Monaco. Set up as a dance company, it moves in an interdisciplinary field that stretches from experimental theatre, the exploration of movement, visual installations and sound materials to performance art. Kinkaleri's work has achieved major recognition in the research scene both in Italy and abroad. In 2002 it won the Premio Lo Straniero tips for the future award and that same year it was also awarded the Premio Ubu for its performance of Otto. It has presented its performances in theatres and festivals such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Kampnagel in Hamburg, the Mousonturm in Frankfurt, the Sophiensaele in Berlin, the Kaaitheater and Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussel), the Rencontres Choregraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis in Paris, The Place in London, the Mercat des Flors in Barcelona) and CORPI ALTRI/BODY OTHER in Tokyo.
