Art Between the Lines

training course for teachers, students and professionals

Forum – Palazzo delle Esposizioni
Saturday 26 September from 10.30am to 1.30pm

The Palazzo delle Esposizioni's and 's Art Workshop service is to hold a training course for teachers, students, professionals and anyone with an interest in its Art Bookshelf, a library specializing in international art publishing for children – a collection of books that uses words and pictures to tell the story of art and artists.
The course focuses on using the Bookshelf's books for looking at, leafing through and touching, as the starting point for planning new pathways of discovery.  Participants will be introduced to some of the educational programmes devised by the Educational Services, for which books have served as an inspiration and offered visual stimulation, becoming a fully-fledged working tool.

The Palazzo delle Esposizioni library's collection has grown and expanded over the years, tying in closely with the exhibitions hosted in the museum and with the research and training work conducted by the Education Department.  Its most recent acquisitions include a collection of tactile books designed for the blind and the visually challenged, and the silent books from the second edition of IBBY Italia's Silent books.  Final destination Lampedusa scheme.
