The colour of art

working notebooks
This project, a product of the Education Services' experience in training and formation designed for kindergarten teachers in the Rome municipal area, was developed in conjunction with the Municipal Office for Education and School Policy in 2005 and has evolved through the training course of the same name right up to the present day.

Two workshop kits have been developed in support of teaching activities, offering the utmost flexibility inasmuch as they are travelling kits and can be duplicated.  The Colour of Art kit can be consulted in hardcopy at the Art Bookshelf in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and contains five notebooks, one for each of five artists and five different ways of handling colour.  Monet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Rothko and Klein are explained through a painting and a short biography of the artist  The artists in question are all major players in contemporary art history who have handled colour in a highly personal manner. Each notebook contains worksheets, tips for workshop activities and advice for further reading.
