A truly special day in the company of the great Korean artist Suzy Lee.

An opportunity for the young and the less young alike to discover the way an illustrated album works and to be captivated by story-telling in images.

 

Suzy Lee

Her books have been published throughout the world and have proven immensely popular, her most widely acclaimed titles including Wave, Mirror and Shadow which make up the Border Trilogy. Wave won the Society of Illustrators’ Gold Medal at the 2008 edition of The Original Art, an annual exhibition showcasing the best illustrated books for children published in the United States; and Wave and Shadow were included in The New York Times’ list of Best Illustrated Children’s Books in 2008 and 2010 respectively. Suzy Lee has also written River. The Black Dog (2019), Lines (2017) and Alice in Wonderland (2002) published in Italy by Corraini. She has illustrated See You Someday Soon (written by Pat Zietlow Miller in 2022), The Yulu Linen (written by Cao Wenxuan in 2020; special mention at the BolognaRagazzi Award event in 2021 in the fiction category), This Beautiful Day (written by Richard Jackson in 2017 and published in Italian by Terre di Mezzo) and Open This Little Book (written by Jesse Klausmeier in 2012 and published in Italian by Corraini). Suzy Lee won the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2022. She currently lives and works in Korea.
