A summer of art

From June 12 to July 7, 2023

Summer school at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni

From 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni's Art Workshop has dreamed up a fun, quality alternative for children to spend the first few weeks of their summer holidays after schools break up. We offer children aged 5 to 11 three full weeks in which they can explore themes ranging from art to the cinema and from yoga to a mini-circus.

Our focus this year is on the dialogue between ancient art and contemporary art through exhibitions Vita Dulcis. Paura e desiderio nell'Impero Romano e Roma, A Portrait | Festival Delle Accademie E Degli Istituti Di Cultura Stranieri.

The day kicks off with physical exercise for the morning, alternating yoga lessons (one accompanying adult may take part in the yoga lesson), mini-circus and dance. This year's new features include an introductory lesson to Italian sign language (LIS) through movements of the body.

Children visit the exhibitions and are taken on a tour "behind the scenes" to meet the people who work in the museum, from the exhibitions office and the ticket office to the welcome desk and the marketing team.

Tours by readings from books and illustrated albums from the Art Bookshelf, a library specialising in international art publications hosted in the Forum.
