To tie in with the Evasion Techniques exhibition exploring the Hungarian avant-garde in the 1960s and '70s and with the simultaneous celebration of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will be hosting a special encounter with witnesses, players, art historians and collectors discussing and remembering art, life, initiatives, actions, dreams and disappointments in the days of – and in the shadow of – the Wall.
The freedom of art alongside walls, near walls, close to and beyond walls: the investigation developed by the exhibition curators into the relationship between art and power will be further enhanced on this occasion by testimonials, revelations and tributes paid to the memory of those times, but above all in the light of an uncertain present and future that we continue to see as being strewn with ditches and walls.
