Explorers of the World. National Geographic

EXPLORERS OF THE WORLD

a dynamic tour of the exhibition

from 25 March to 30 June 2014

The exhibition entitled National Geographic, 125 Years.  The Great Adventure traces the history of one of the most famous magazines in the world, a magazine which has been telling us the story of distant peoples and places for over a century thanks to the tireless work of photographers and explorers whose pictures and narratives have enthralled generations of people around the planet.

To mark the occasion, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Education Services - Art Workshop has devised a special tour for schools in which the exhibition is transformed into a dynamic venue for exploring, discovering and living to tell the tale. But also overturning reality, rediscovering and inventing "nonsense", turning clichés on their head. The cutting, ironic tools of photomontage and the manipulation of images are key ingredients in this tour.

The books in the Art Bookshop are the means we use to retrace the explorers' intrepid journies and to discover the places and cultures they unveiled.
