This exhibition retraces in the imagination Goethe's journey to Italy, bringing together the cities of Weimar, Rome and Napoli through the works of eight contemporary artists, Italian and German, of different generations: Italian artists Nicola De Maria, Mimmo Paladino and Eliseo Mattiacci, and German artists Raimund Kummer, Janaina Tschäpe and Eva-Maria Schön.

Following its staging at the ACC Galleries in Weimar, the exhibition in Rome was expanded with the addition of works by two young artists, Gea Casolaro and Marina Paris.

During the period of the exhibition, Elisabetta Pozzi, Roberto De Francesco and Mascia Musi gave a series of lectures on extracts from Goethe's works.
