cycle of lectures organised in conjunction with
Sapienza Università di Roma - Facoltà di Scienze Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali
Science and education are emerging from the university environment and entering the Palazzo delle Esposizioni thanks to a cycle of lectures-seminars designed for university students and others and held by some of the lecturers from the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at Rome's Sapienza University. The scientists have been asked to stimulate participants to find answers to some of the many questions and queries that the practice of scientific research raises: from the way a stem cell works and the nature of the atom to the proliferation of technological waste or how to help increase our planet's sustainability, from the visionary capacity of Dante's geometry to the dynamic of a population forced to cope with climate change. These lectures have been deliberately moved outside the classroom walls and set in the heart of an exhibition space where science meets art, in an effort to foster areas of contact among the various different expressions of knowledge and to stimulate direct interaction in students and to offer them an uncustomary experience in the field of training, growth and reflection.
Attendance at each of the lectures in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni is designed for 40 students from Rome's Sapienza University - Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, who are required to reserve their places on the website of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, on the page dedicated to the lectures.
In order to open the lectures to a broader and more diversified audience, however, visitors to the exhibitions can also attend the lectures while places last, or they can be followed in live streaming on the Palazzo delle Esposizioni's website.
